Craft Beers – Support Your Local Brewery

January 22, 2013 — Leave a comment

In 2012, Craft Beers saw a 15% increase in sales. This was the sixth straight year of sales growth. Many cities across the country are experiencing a craft brewing boom. Increasingly beer drinkers are turning away from mass-produced light lagers and drinking more complex local beers.

Microbreweries have capitalized on the growing local movement. Consumers are increasingly choosing local, handcrafted and homemade products. Many entrepreneurs have entered the business because they are passionate about beer, enjoy experimenting and building a local brand. The products are fun. I.P.A, Pale Ale, Brown Ale, Imperial Stout and Irish Amber Ale are just a few of the products that are available at your local brewery.

In 1994, there were only six breweries in New York State. Today, there are over 100 breweries in the state.

I think it is important to support local businesses. Microbreweries create jobs and stimulate the local economy. When I travel, I always try to sample a local beer. I have found many high quality craft beers. When you get a chance support your local brewery.

What is your favorite craft beer?
